North Carolina Beats Clemson Big, 74-52

The Tar Heels lit up Chapel Hill on February 18th and destroyed the Tigers in ACC play, 74-52.

A couple key stats coming into the game: The North Carolina RPI ranking was much better than Clemson, #6 to #157. The Tar Heels are a very strong team playing at home, and the Tigers weren't so hot coming in (2 for 5). Last year, North Carolina was 3-0 against Clemson. Over the last four years, the Tar Heels are now 8-1 against the Tigers including 4-0 at Dean E. Smith Center. North Carolina has a great record over Clemson going back to 1980, 58-10.

North Carolina beat Clemson with a significant edge in offensive rebounding while also coming out ahead in assists.

North Carolina used offensive rebounds to get off additional shots, with an advantage of 11 to five. North Carolina spread the ball around and put up 19 assists to 10 by Clemson.

Harrison Barnes was the leading scorer for the Tar Heels with 24 points in 31 minutes. Kendall Marshall helped the cause by topping everyone with 13 assists.

The Tar Heels have moved up to 23-4 as they get closer to the final stretch. They're now 1st in the ACC and their conference record improves to 10-2. Furthermore, this adds to their 3 game winning streak.
